Pet Product Material Comparison Worksheet
Compare common pet product materials side by side — durability, end-of-life impact, and typical cost — so you can weigh the tradeoffs before you buy, not after.
How this worksheet works
Every rating here is a general, qualitative comparison of the material itself — not a specific brand or product — based on the sources below, not first-hand product testing. Durability and cost are relative comparisons across the materials shown, not precise measurements. End-of-life ratings always note when compostability or recyclability depends on the facility, local program, or the specific finish/adhesives used in a real product, rather than implying a blanket guarantee.
This worksheet compares general material properties only. It does not assess product safety, choking hazards, or chemical safety — for cleaning-product safety around pets, see the Pet-Safe Cleaner Checker. Nothing here is professional engineering, safety, or purchasing advice.
